Rules & Regulations for Students of Eastern Medical College
Students should always carry their Photo ID Cards in EMC Campus.
Students are expected to be clean and well-groomed in appearance and proper personal hygiene is to be maintained at all times.
Students of both genders are expected to dress professionally and conservatively in accordance to their chosen profession. Fashionable dress, t-shirt, jeans or shorts, cosmetics, slippers, sandals or open-toe shoes & untidy hair are not allowed in EMC Campus. Rings, bangles are not allowed during the practical classes.
Both Male & Female Students must attend classes wearing clean well pressed white full sleeve Apron.
Smoking is strictly prohibited in the College Campus and Hospital.
Students are not allowed to take food and drink inside the galleries and library. To keep EMC environment clean, students must throw litter into waste bins.
Absence from classes individually or en masse without prior information and valid reasons are punishable.
In case of illness or other unavoidable reasons of absence, students must submit a written application with supporting documents and signature from their Parent/ Guardian to the concerned Batch teacher, who through respective Head of the Department and Phase Coordinator will submit it to the Principal for approval.
All the students are expected to maintain highest standard in their academic and personal conducts. Loss of moral and spiritual values or addiction to alcohol and narcotic drugs are totally prohibited.
Pasting of unauthorized posters on the walls of College & Hospital premises are prohibited.
Students are prohibited from conducting any type of demonstrations, processions in College and Hospital premises.
Political activities are not permitted in College Campus.
Students who face academic or other problems can approach the Principal, Head of the Department, Phase Coordinators, Batch Teachers, Hostel Super or Senior Staff members for redressal of their grievances.
Students must not misbehave with the staff or employees of the College.
Usage of mobile phones during class and examination is strictly prohibited.
Students are allowed to use EMC Library and Reading Gallery from 8am to 10pm on all working days of the week. Students are allowed to borrow books to read inside the library only.
Cost of loss or damage to EMCH property is liable to be realized from the student who is found responsible for the loss or damage of the College or Hospital property.
Students and parents or guardians have to sign a bond during admission into EMC that the respective student will abide by the rules and regulations of EMC and any indisciplined act will make the student liable to be punished including expulsion from the College by the decision of EMC Academic Council and Disciplinary Committee.
