আমরা গভীর দুঃখের সাথে জানাচ্ছি যে ইএমসি-১৮ ব্যাচের শিক্ষার্থী মোহাম্মদ হাশিম খান ৩ আগস্ট, ২০২৪ ভারতে ক্যান্সারের চিকিৎসা চলাকালীন মারা গেছেন। তার মৃত্যুতে ইএমসি পরিবার শোকাহত। আমরা তার শোকসন্তপ্ত পরিবারের প্রতি সমবেদনা জানাচ্ছি এবং মরহুমের বিদেহী আত্মার শান্তি কামনা করছি।
We are deeply saddened that Mohammad Hasim Khan, EMC-18 batch student, has passed away on August 3, 2024, while undergoing cancer treatment in India. The EMC family is deeply mourned by his death. We express our condolences to his bereaved family and pray for the departed soul to rest in peace.

Medical Course & Services Offered

Eastern Medical College have 115 seats per year (Current Total Students 603) and offers 5 years' MBBS Course as approved by Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC) leading to MBBS degree of the University of Chittagong and Chittagong Medical University.
An one-year Internship Training after completing MBBS course is compulsory for all graduates to get full Registration from BM&DC to practice as Physician.
Eastern Medical College Hospital is a 600 bedded Modern Hospital (with 10% free bed and average 70% Bed Occupancy Rate) having general & specialized healthcare facilty with all the major departments & specialized doctors delivering quality Medical Services to the Patients with training facility for the interns and trainee doctors.

Permission by Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME), Medical Education and Family Welfare Division of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of the Peoples' Republic of Bangladesh (upto session 2024-2025).
Affiliation by the University of Chittagong and Chittagong Medical University, Chattogram, Bangladesh (upto session 2023-2024).
Recognition by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BM&DC) upto session 2019-2020 (applied upto session 2023-2024).
Enlistment in World Directory of Medical Schools developed through partnership between the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) and the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER®) which will enable our medical graduates to appear at Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) Certification program and other entrance examinations abroad.
Membership of South East Asia Regional Association for Medical Education (SEARAME).
Affiliation by Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS) for postgraduate training of doctors in FCPS course in Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics and Paediatrics.
Scope for NMC, India & Other Medical Councils:
After obtaining MBBS Degree from Bangladesh, students from India are required to appear and qualify in Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) conducted by National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences to get registration from National Medical Commission (NMC), India. MBBS degree obtained from EMC is recognized by NMC, India & Medical Councils of other SAARC countries.

Eastern Medical College and Hospital is situated on more than 5 acre of land area with total Building Floorspace about 7,04,009 Sq Ft having separate Academic Building (about 2,35,858 Sq Ft), Hospital Building (about 2,40,112 Sq Ft), Boys Hostel [Major Gani Hall] (about 62,000 Sq Ft), Girls Hostel [Shanti-Sunitee Hall] (about 58,200 Sq Ft), Intern Hostel & Doctors-Teachers Dormitory (about 63,659 Sq Ft) and Others as Mosque, Staff Quarter, Canteen, Guest House, etc. (about 44,180 Sq Ft).
